The University of South Alabama engaged Hummingbird Ideas to plan, create and execute a campaign geared towards driving campus visits in 2016.
This campaign primarily targeted potential students ages 13-17 and their parents in the following markets: Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile, Ala.; Pensacola, Fla.; and Biloxi and Gulfport, Miss. Tactics used included: online behavioral and network banner ads, online banner retargeting, Facebook ads, and Pandora® Internet Radio.
All online advertising traffic was driven to a custom landing page website that would allow potential students and parents to quickly and easily register for a campus tour.
This campaign, in conjunction with the other elements of USA’s advertising, has increased campus tours by 36% since implemented. The university has also realized its highest average GPA of traditional college-aged freshmen, with an average of 3.6. Additionally, they have realized the highest number of incoming freshmen with 30+ ACT scores since the inception of the campaign.
