Hummingbird enters 2018 with a lot of positive vibes, energy and momentum. Over the last few months, our team has been re-evaluating who we are, who we want to be, what kind of work we want to do and how we want to get there.
As we enter our 14th year of existence and service to our clients, we do so with more focus, drive, energy and promise than ever before. There is a renewed sense of excitement, enthusiasm and energy among our talented team.
While the advertising industry is certainly one that will take its occupants on one helluva ride with an ebb and flow that can sometimes be a drain on the soul.
We’ve found that this ride can be softened if we just get a bit more focused. If we have our processes and plans to fall back on—but, most importantly, if we have an identity of our own.
This identity, is something we (as a group) have put a lot of thought and effort into. In 2017, we experienced quite a bit of real change in what our agency looked like. The changes (not necessarily surprising), for better or worse, really forced our hand when it came to figuring out who we wanted to be and how we wanted to get there.
In 2018, we’ll be focused on implementing our best laid plans and processes, and going after clients and work that will help to further clarify our identity.
The very nature of our industry is that it will continue to constantly shift, change, and force our team to have their “finger on the pulse.” But, like Coach Nick Saban and his players always say when presented with their most challenging of times—”we trusted in the process, and our game plan.”
Sometimes, agencies and their people have to take a long hard look at who they are or who they want to be, and how they want to get there. That’s the hard part.
Now the fun begins.
